Early Life in Apadia
Kyðeon (expressed Kydeon or Gideon in the Common tongue) is the King of the Elves of the Urdai Sinwal (Greybark Forest) and resides in Gaelfor in the heart of the forest. He is the last of original scions of the peoples of Sarapadia granted gifts by Bahamut.
Kyðeon was born 1,287 years ago on in Tarisir on the continent of Apadia. According to his own account, Kyðeon states "When I was a young elf growing up in Apadia with my family, I was afforded every privilege an elf could have. I was taught every language, every beast, every culture, every god and devil, everything there is to know of what the Northmen call Miðgarðr, Mid-World, the world in the middle of the mighty World-Tree Yggdrasill. Cosmogeny, biology, mathematics, wizardry, druidcraft, sword-fighting, and even poetry were my life until I became an adult elf, and the world changed."
During the Ulon-Zirak, 1003 years ago, Kyðeon and the Elves of Tarisir, home of the Elves of Apadia, fled for the new continent of Sarapadia. In this new land, the Elves beseeched the help of Bahamut, who imbued a leader from each of the peoples of Sarapadia with gifts to aid in their struggles. Kyðeon was granted the ability to see the movement of Urðr. Using this gift, he saw that their days would be numbered far less in Apadia, and used what influence he had to convince others to stay in this new land instead.
Life in Sarapadia
Of his early years in Sarapadia, Kyðeon states "Four hundred years we lived as feral elves, called to the forests here, ancient and wild, filled with the fey-folk, and we learned to speak with them. We taught the trees to sing and grow into new forms and breeds, and we showed the fey-folk how to control and use their magic in a focused manner. As we had landed on the east coast, we met first Halflings and Humans, who were surprised to see our arrival but they were glad to receive us, and we were most glad to be so welcomed. We shared our knowledge of magic, which remains elusive to the vast majority of them, and they shared their food and labor and loyalty. Faster friends than Humans and Haflings could never any elf make. After a time, we felt the pull of the forest and began our seclusion there. My sister, Tifira, and I, as the last remaining royalty from Tarisir on the new island, were dubbed to be leaders of the new elven tribes of Sarapadia."
In recent years, at the age of 1,287, Kyðeon, feeling shame at his inability to prevent the fall of the Dwarven and Gnomish Empires, has offered his kingdom as stabilizing source of protection for the peoples of Sarapadia. In addition to sending troops to aid in the Battle of Five Ridges, he has ordered his forces to train sailors, and footmen, and warriors, and mages to help defend Sarapadia.
