The Ingknutr (lit. "Ing's Knot") was identified by Darvok collected from the tool hoard of his kin in the caves in the Skyrend, and confirmed by Daêshen, to be an ingknutr, A Knot of Ing, which is a name for Frey, a noted fertility god worshipped by the Northmen and the Dwarves of the North Skyrend, and is considered a deity of origin for those Dwarves, that he made them from the clay of the earth. It is a token made of simple grey iron of the highest purity, and this is the master image for a coin strike which is mounted to this wooden plank. It is enchanted to be exceedingly hard as the base material itself if not. Some of these were enchanted by the Ingavones, the Tribe of Frey, to endure for as long as the Dwarven Empire had blood in the veins of dwarves. It was apparently, originally, a token of peace in the Faewald, and may ease your passage there. The iron is the same kind of magical gnome-iron the hammers are made of. It makes sense to use as a coin strike when the material properties are considered.

When Faeron holds the Ingknutr small metal leaves become apparent on the backside. The Ingknutr looks like a lotus flower when all metal leaves are open. In the middle of the flower "blossom" is a small indentation. When a dragon seed is placed in this divot, the Ingknutr turns into the Ingsrod.
