Kîmet is the surface capital of the Gnomes of Sarapadia. It was recently overrun by the forces of The Enemy. It is currently in the process of reconstruction with the aid of Kyðeon's forces. The castellan, Kasten, is managing the reconstruction effort.

History

Kîmet was first founded on the edge of the Urdai Sinwal to oversee the southern coast of Sarapadia all the way across the Hâzek Hills to the Khâl Dhakîr to the west. It was the first capital the Gnomes built about 900 years before the Ulon-Zirak (BUZ). It was their main point of trade and commerce, and the point from which the Gnomes flourished until beginning primary trade with Dwarves in their underground secondary capital, Pakûn, founded in 300 BUZ, home of the first commercial enchanters, the Clan Sargaf.

The Gnomes grew peacefully and expanded their residence to the nearby Greybark Forest, the Skyrend Mountains, the upper plains of the Silvermere and the Hâzek River, into Hâzek, and all the way to Vesuva. About 70 years ago, the Gnomes' strength began to wane all over Sarapadia, the ones furthest from home suffering the most, and dying with greater surety. The capitals of Kîmet and Pakûn were destabilized, the typically socialized Gnomish government too reliant on the strength of Elves and Dwarves for defense, and food shortages became rampant. A famine claimed much their population in Pakûn, nearly entirely dependent on shipments of foodstuffs from Kîmet tapering sharply over the last two decades. Gnomes everywhere flocked home to see their ancestral lands much emptier of their people, and began to engineer solutions to their food access and defense issues by recovering the ancient tools from the Ulon-Zirak. After they summoned all their engineers and enchanters together, they made for the Sargaf Forges. What is known is that none made it to their destination as anything other than a husk of their former selves, some experimented on by necromancy while still alive, This would eventually be called The Enchanters' Last March, and would be recorded for posterity by the scribes of Vesuva what could be gleaned from the scant survivors' accounts.

With the last of their people's skilled craftspersons gone or otherwise fled to other places, the Chief Artificer named Sven Sargaf, the last of the line of the clan, and who had remained in Kîmet during The Enchanters' Last March to continue the teachings, grew so desperate as to take his family's entire fortune to which he was personally entitled and vowed to return only when he could save his homeland. He made his way to Vesuva, where he chanced to meet a human rogue, Jarek Clayton who tried to relieve Sven of his purse. Sven befriended the wayward rogue and they became friends, eventually founding the Adventurer's Guild of Vesuva along with a powerful cleric, Cathartic, and her traveling associate Dâeshên Axehammer, and his typically silent and stoic friend, Maecas.
